Mr. Kirti Jain founded Chenitan Color Chem Pvt. Ltd. in 1996, starting with
modest beginnings as a leather dyestuff trading firm in Chennai. With a focus
on India’s expanding finished leather market, he sought to offer a viable
alternative to the dominant multinational companies (MNCs) of the time.
By targeting the industry’s leading leather tanners, Mr. Jain established a
unique niche for Chenitan, with a vision of becoming a key player in the sector.
His leadership was pivotal in the company’s strategic move towards backward
integration, setting up dye manufacturing operations in Gujarat. This transition
fuelled Chenitan’s consistent growth, transforming it into one of India’s most
reliable and respected leather dyestuff manufacturers, recognized globally for
its commitment to quality, sustainability, and competitive pricing.

Mr. Ketan Jain, after completing his B.Tech in Chemical Engineering and earning an MBA in Finance and Supply Chain Management from NMIMS University, Mumbai, officially joined Chenitan in 2023. With a clear long-term vision, he set forth a comprehensive strategy to expand the company’s product portfolio, moving beyond the leather industry to cater to the textile, paper, aluminum and wood sectors. His leadership in modernizing and expanding the advanced manufacturing facility in Dahej, Gujarat, has been pivotal to the company’s growth, turning it into one of the most sophisticated dyestuff production units in India. Driven by a passion for R&D, business development, and engineering innovation, Ketan played a key role in Chenitan’s achievement of becoming one of the first Indian manufacturers to earn ZDHC Level 3 certification for acid dyes in 2022. This milestone underscored the company’s commitment to sustainability and set a benchmark for the industry.
